It’s days like this, rainy and humid where sometimes our minds wander or our breath is stilled and all we see in front of us is a green grassland; where the wind is whispering our name.
What is Love?
Can we experience such a foreign emotion?
Love, is vague. There’s no correct way of feeling. Each person has his or her own thoughts on love, it may be raw and vivid. If we could imagine the sense of loss and belonging all on one person, is that a form of love?
Like colors on a blank canvas.
If love was pure, innocent and spontaneous, the definition of love would not exist. If there’re terms of understanding, belief and patience. Love wouldn’t coexist.
Is love an emotion, a psychological emotion or a feeling?
Based on my short-lived love experience, I’ll tell you this. The emotions you feel are like waves of fire, the strong ignition of light into one’s heart flame. Each other they help to keep the two fires going. The ‘sorry’ and the ‘thank you’, the fleeting physical touches, the brief kiss on the forehead, the small squeeze of the hand, the affirmation from the eyes. These small, unseen, unrewarded gestures that support one another.
If love is like the wind in your face, breath on your skin with every step you take, or the water that touches your lips every time you take a sip. Is love the bird discharge on your head on a bad day? Is it a notion to tell you, even if your day is rough and a bird decides to excrete on you that day — it’s not the end of the world. Like the small bumps in your relationships, there’re times when trash may spontaneously hit the fan; but that doesn’t mean to let go and give up. You’d at least clean it up and move on. Don’t run away from love, it may be daunting, terrifying to enter a new territory — a territory of overwhelming emotions.
Uncontrollable attraction, even lust; perhaps. But that’s life, isn’t it? Life is full of uncontrollable decisions, bad days and good days. If love and life is the same thing, love expresses more emotion and connection towards an object or being. Life is full of emotion, connection, happiness and empowerment.
